Our tour leaders, who have had the Senior Guide Training of RAJ, will accompany you on your tour. They’ve had training in cases of emergency, and are knowledgeable concerning the condition of the Tone River as well as the routes from the river to dry-land for any possible emergencies. * We give steady and thorough maintenance to our rafts and lifejackets, and replace them with new ones when required. * Our office staff are aware of and uses the training manuals for emergency contacts, and we also study and receive training on how to handle any emergency.

Inside Ropes

Inside Ropes We use rafting boats made by Hojo Co., (Taiwan) and Zebec Co. Most rafts have ropes around the outside of boat, so you need to reach out in order to hold onto the ropes during a rapid river decent. However, you might injure your hands every time the raft bumps against rocks as your hands are outside the boat. So, we set these ropes inside the boats so your hands are always free from getting hurt while holding onto the ropes. You can really enjoy rafting without a worry as these ropes are just within your reach.

Noriyuki Abe Nori, (Noriyuki Abe), founder of Forest & Water, began his career as a river guide after extensive training at Kawarau Rafting Co. in New Zealand in 1989. He helped to form the foundation of the rafting business of Montbel Co. on the Yoshino River in Shikoku Island after having considerable experience as an oar-rafter in Canada. Due to his many rafting and water-sport achievements he founded ZAC Rafting Co. on the Tone River in Minakami Town. In 1996 he re-named the company “Forest & Water” with the purpose of sharing the fun of outdoor activities with many people.
